Missions

Lord of Glory exists to be a light in the world and to bless others. One way in which we do this is by supporting ministries that are advancing the Kingdom of God. Below you’ll find information on ministries we support, ministries we have examined and trust. Please join us in praying for these ministries, and supporting them with your time and your financial support, as you feel so led.

Local Ministries

  • Lord of Glory Food Pantry- Lord of Glory operates a food pantry, funded by our members and community partners. Reaching over 1500 people per month, this ministry is a blessing to our community. To volunteer, get more information, or ask how you can donate click here.
  • Tri County Pregnancy and Parenting Services- Tri County serves young Moms and Dads from the time they find out they are expecting through the first few years of parenthood. A life-advocating organization, Tri-County blesses many! www.informedchoices.org

International Ministries

  • Child Initiative International- CII is an organization that seeks to make a positive impact in the lives of children both in the United States and abroad.  They have done excellent work with orphanages in Uganda, and we are so pleased to partner with them. www.ciintl.org
  • La Escalera- (Dan Fick)- La Escalera is a Christian ministry in Sucre’, Bolivia, that is seeking to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through worship and music. Their Pastor and leader, Dan Fick, has impacted the lives of many, and we are privileged to support this front-lines ministry. www.laescalera.missionsplace.com.
  • Feed My Starving Children- Each year, Lord of Glory partners with other churches in our community to package meals that are then shipped to parts of the world that need them. Our most recent effort, in December, 2011, over 202,000 meals were packed! www.fmscgrayslake.org.
  • Lutheran Bible Translators- (Rich Rudowske)- Lutheran Bible Translators exists to help get the word of God translated into every language on earth. Lord of Glory supports Rich Rudowske in his translating and missionary efforts in Botswana, Africa. www.rudowskes.com.

Kingdom Collaboration Ministries

  • LCMS Northern Illinois District- The Northern Illinois District office encourages and equips the LCMS churches in our area and spurs them on to greater impact in God’s Kingdom. www.ni.lcms.org.
  • LCMS NID New Stars New Believers Campaign- The New Starts, New Believers initiative seeks to mobilize all the churches in our district around one common goal- reaching new Christians. We support this effort through prayers and financial offerings which help expand the Kingdom in our district.
  • Christ Together- Christ Together seeks to gather Christian churches together to encourage, support, and mobilize for mission and ministry. Being a part of Christ Together enables Lord of Glory to build relationships with fellow Christians in our area and to participate in events like Feed My Starving Children. www.christtogether.com.
  • Lake County United- Lake County United seeks to gather churches and organizations together to advance the common good and advocate for justice and equality. www.lakecountyunited.org.
